Dubai Sounds is a company that organizes concerts in the UAE. They would like to set up a two day music festival – similar to the one held at Glastonbury in England. Jo Tanner is a senior manager at Dubai Sounds. Here is what she had to say about the proposed festival: “We have decided to hold a music festival in December and hope to attract various artists from around the world. It will be held on 21st and 22nd December at a desert location, near the Bab Al Shams resort. We expect to sell around 2000 tickets each day. The daily events will start at 2pm and finish at 12am. There is a minimum entry age of 14 years. People will be able to stay overnight – at the hotel or in a special campsite”. |

David Stanley is the Head of Marketing at Dubai Sounds. It is his job to promote the event locally and worldwide. This is what he would like: “Ideally, we need an interactive guide to the festival. This needs to be accessible to everyone and we figured the best medium for this would be a website with hyperlinks. That way, anyone in the world can view it and find out about the festival, 24/7. We really want to attract younger people to buy tickets – aged between 14 to 24 years old. These people will be our main target audience. I would really like a younger person to set up the interactive guide for us". |

"On the website homepage we would like the name of the festival and the logo. In fact, the logo should appear on every webpage. There should be hyperlinks to navigate through the site and a link back to the homepage from every page. Include suitable pictures on all the pages – it will make it more interesting. You could include a hotspot over the logo that takes the visitor back to the homepage as well. I would imagine that there will be a page about the venue. It should tell people about the campsite and the hotel and have the title “Festival Venue”. It will cost individuals 200 AED per night in a private tent or 500 AED for a room in the hotel. They can stay there on the 21st and the 22nd of December (2 nights) or just the first night – it’s up to the individual. We can organize group tents for more than one person but they will need to contact us for the price. The hotel will allow us to use information from their website to promote the event". |

There should also be a page about some of the bands and singers that will appear. It should have the title “Festival Acts”. We’re not certain who they will be at the moment. Perhaps the web designer could choose 5 or 6 acts – we can always change them when we have confirmed who will appear. Tickets will cost 150 AED for one day or 250 AED for both days of the festival. That information should go on a separate webpage as well. It should have the title “Ticket Information”. I suppose you will need to tell people where to buy them from too: Dubai Sounds, telephone 04 523 5622 or e-mail dubaisoundsfestival@gmail.com. That's a temporary e-mail address but you need to test it to make sure it works ok. Try sending a suitable message to it to test it. We don’t have a website at the moment – it’s under construction! Tickets will go on sale from 15th November. |

The whole website must appeal to the target audience. It should also be easy to use and all the hyperlinks must work properly. There should be no spelling errors and all titles must really stand out. The font must look good but be easy to read. Hyperlinks should really be in the same place on every page so that the user doesn’t get confused”.
